A very hoppy Easter weekend indeed!
Just a few photos from our Easter weekend;)
You guys, it’s Spring! It happened! So we’re currently enjoying: outdoor playdates, birds chirping, afternoon cuddles, fresh air drifting in our windows, city walks to the park and the start of picnic season…yay.
There are a few things parenting books out there don’t tell you: one of them being how fun and exciting it is to revisit childhood memories and start new traditions with your little ones. This year I put together a little bag of Easter goodies for Summer; her first tea set (which kinda reminded me of our sweet Easter last year), a new book, bunny ears and of course a little chocolate, which we helped with! Phil and I have been thinking up some holiday traditions we would like to do for our family and its been kinda fun to put them into action…
Saturday started with a Daddy-daughter date as per usual but ended up with a walk to the Lincoln Park zoo and conservatory and Summer’s first carousel ride! The day ended at home with our Easter loot and Netflix. It was kind of lovely.
We got up early Sunday morning before dawn, put a few extra layers on Summer as she slept, and made it to the beach for 6.30, where 300 others from church had already gathered to sing praises to the One who made the greatest sacrifice and gave the greatest gift.
‘But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus…And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen indeed…” Luke 24:1-3: 34
…the rest of the weekend was spent with new friends, Easter brunching and a little egg hunt for the kids. It was pretty cute and Summer had a blast! Easter. You were awesome.
