Tomorrow my baby girl turns 3 weeks old! I have no idea how that happened so fast. These past few weeks have been a little bit dreamy, being a new mother is truly the most rewarding of experiences. I can honestly say I have loved every minute, all the firsts have been super special, the first time we brought her home, her first bath, our first walk in the park…and the list goes on.
I also have a new found respect for all mothers and if you are reading this and you’re a new Mummy or waiting for that sweet arrival, advice is easy to come by… everyone has some! However, the best pieces of advice I heard are this…
1. On giving birth: Expect that it will be hard and expect that you can do it anyway. You’re a rockstar, after all. You were made for this!
2. Cherish those first few days, do nothing but enjoy them.
So these are a few of my favourite things so far…
…watching her sleep and that belly of hers rise and fall.…baby snuggles and that yummy baby smell.… sitting nursing our baby girl in the early morning hours, before you even think about getting up for work…oh and that face!…seeing her with her daddy and celebrating birthdays together. …Summer’s cute romper suit which I hope she never grows out of.…introducing Summer to a few of our favourite places in Ireland.…family walks in the park. …those cute tiny baby feet.
…and I LOVE afternoon naps. Who knew I would miss sleeping more than 3 hours at once SO MUCH
This little girl has changed our lives forever and I’m really looking forward to week four, week five and all the weeks after that.
On a slightly different note…I’m so thankful for all the things the Lord has given me…including my best friend in which I do life with (Happy Birthday Husband). R xFor those interested, all photos taken on my iPhone and edited with vsco.
