Protecting Saturdays
When we moved back to China we decided to put a few Adams family rules in place; the first was to try and protect our Saturdays for each other and for Summer. It was our aim to take these 24 hours to slow down and catch up with each other as a family of three.
In China, this always meant Phil’s pancakes, cups of tea, a sermon and a walk up a mountain or a boat ride along our border, there usually was some sort of sushi in there too! And I kind of loved the spontaneity of those mornings. So this week we decided to take a drive in Ireland, the whole car thing is still a bit of novelty and to find wheaten bread and homemade soup along the way…welllllllll it was lovely.
These past few weeks have been difficult. Building upon the past, thinking of distant friends, praying for the future and trying to enjoy the present. We know God has us here for a purpose and we’re constantly seeking out what that is and what that looks like.
Of course little Miss Summer has been our constant smiler and reminder of how blessed we are…here she is, all 29 weeks in her first swing, having an absolute ball! Such a precious gift.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights… James 1:17
