To the sunshine girl who has our heart, had such a fun weekend sprinkling you with some extra birthday love!! Love that I get to be your Mama, as your Dad and I get to experience all these parenting firsts with you!!! A few pics taken at your fourth birthday party with little friends and lots of love. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing this family since we arrived in a snowy Chicago almost two years ago. Megan and I first got to know each other at a Mom’s group and since then our girls have become the sweetest BFF’s. The hand holding, fight like they’re your sister kind!
We spent Saturday morning walking around Humboldt park, admiring all the Fall leaves and ducking the birds (sorry Megan!). The weather has been amazing and what better way to enjoy it, than with a lil’ photo shoot!?! It might have ended with pie too, so I’d say it was a pretty good Saturday!
Babies hand holding! So sweet!! Love capturing all these little details, I guess they are easy to forget, and often hard to document day to day but they’re the ones I sometimes treasure the most…

I’m finally getting around to sharing a few photos from Summer’s 2nd birthday party from a couple of weeks ago. We had a lot of fun squeezing everyone into our little apartment! I hand-stamped some bunny invitations, we blew up a few balloons and kept the menu super simple with a triple layer vanilla buttercream cake from Magnolia (one of Summer and I’s fave bakeries in the city!!!), some fresh fruit and chocolate milk for the kiddos.
A big shout out to my Mum and Auntie Avril who came into town for a few days, we had such a fun week celebrating, eating good food and walking the legs off ourselves! Of course they were such a help too cleaning dishes and picking up toys wherever they went…and then there was the free baby-sitting!! Thanks ladies…feel free to move in in May!;)
A big thanks to everyone who came and showered Summer with gifts, it was wonderful to spend the morning with you guys, celebrating our girl!
