Photos from Summer’s 3rd Birthday!

I can’t believe we have a three year old!! In the middle of birthday season over here and and a few weeks ago we ate Johnny’s chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, visited the local toy store for a little treat (kinda love that you picked $1 bubbles and a packet of balloons!) and invited two of Summer’s little friends over for bubbles and birthday cake!

A few photos we took during your special day…

Face-timing with grandparents over breakfast! I know it can be hard to live so far away from them on birthdays, but thankful for technology so we can still see them and chat. I’m sure everyone else also enjoyed your Nanny’s rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ too! ;)

Protecting Saturdays

When we moved back to China we decided to put a few Adams family rules in place; the first was to try and protect our Saturdays for each other and for Summer. It was our aim to take these 24 hours to slow down and catch up with each other as a family of three.

In China, this always meant Phil’s pancakes, cups of tea, a sermon and a walk up a mountain or a boat ride along our border, there usually was some sort of sushi in there too! And I kind of loved the spontaneity of those mornings. So this week we decided to take a drive in Ireland, the whole car thing is still a bit of novelty and to find wheaten bread and homemade soup along the way…welllllllll it was lovely.

These past few weeks have been difficult. Building upon the past, thinking of distant friends, praying for the future and trying to enjoy the present. We know God has us here for a purpose and we’re constantly seeking out what that is and what that looks like.

Of course little Miss Summer has been our constant smiler and reminder of how blessed we are…here she is, all 29 weeks in her first swing, having an absolute ball! Such a precious gift.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights… James 1:17

Lady In Waiting

Well here we are, the bags are packed and in the car, ready for that highly anticipated trip to the hospital, I’ve stocked up on onesies, I know the baby isle in Boots pretty well now…I’ve asked around and found out the reason behind ‘nipple shields’ (sounds terrifying, right!!?) and so am feeling somewhat ready for this baby to come…well, almost!32weeksThe last 9 weeks in Ireland have been a roller coaster of emotions and busyness and I’ve hardly touched this blog! So here is a mix-mash of all we have got up too…not quite a baby-moon/ pre-baby vacation but we’ve certainly taken advantage of some good food with friends, great coffee shops and drives along country roads…usually on the way to meet and share with you lovely friends. So this is us, before we can use the word ‘PARENT’ to describe ourselves! Isn’t that a  scary thought!roadtrip1Visiting the wonderful people of Co.
