A very hoppy Easter weekend indeed!

Just a few photos from our Easter weekend;)Processed with VSCOcam with a4 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with a4 preset phone5Processed with VSCOcam with a8 presetYou guys, it’s Spring! It happened! So we’re currently enjoying: outdoor playdates, birds chirping, afternoon cuddles, fresh air drifting in our windows, city walks to the park and the start of picnic season…yay.easter3 Processed with VSCOcam with a4 preset easter5There are a few things parenting books out there don’t tell you: one of them being how fun and exciting it is to revisit childhood memories and start new traditions with your little ones. This year I put together a little bag of Easter goodies for Summer; her first tea set (which kinda reminded me of our sweet Easter last year), a new book, bunny ears and of course a little chocolate, which we helped with! Phil and I have been thinking up some holiday traditions we would like to do for our family and its been kinda fun to put them into action…easter24 easter7 easter22 easter9 easter12easter10 easter13Saturday started with a Daddy-daughter date as per usual but ended up with a walk to the Lincoln Park zoo and conservatory and Summer’s first carousel ride! The day ended at home with our Easter loot and Netflix. It was kind of lovely. phone7easter23 easter15 easter16We got up early Sunday morning before dawn, put a few extra layers on Summer as she slept, and made it to the beach for 6.30, where 300 others from church had already gathered to sing praises to the One who made the greatest sacrifice and gave the greatest gift.

‘But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus…And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord has risen indeed…” Luke 24:1-3: 34easter17 easter20…the rest of the weekend was spent with new friends, Easter brunching and a little egg hunt for the kids. It was pretty cute and Summer had a blast! Easter. You were awesome.

Last week we went exploring. We have been exploring this city of ours for a while, finding the most beautiful and interesting sites along the way. It’s also been a long Winter and we’ve been wrapped and cooped up for nearly 6 months now (!!)  so it’s quite refreshing to take a walk and enjoy nature looking a little greener! These photos were taken in Jinjiangshan Park, a 10 minute taxi ride away with a scenic walk, a (kind of) zoo, and some traditional Chinese architecture. It was beautiful.

All in all we had a pretty sweet Saturday morning, walking and talking. Phil was also my sweet teacher for the morning as he taught me some more photo settings and tricks for the Canon. Thanks husband!
