Yummy Apple Crumble

For the filling:
5-6 cooking apples, peeled, cored and quartered
50 g sugar, to sweeten
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon water

For the crumble:
35 g rolled oats
35 g wholemeal flour
20 g caster sugar
35 g margarine or butter

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Peel and core the apples, quarter and cut in to chunks.

Combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, vanilla and water. Turn into the prepared baking pan.

Place the flour and oats in a bowl and mix well. Cut the margarine or butter into small cubes and add this to the oats and flour. Mix with your fingertips until it resembles an even crumb texture. Add the sugar and mix through. I like to sprinkle with a little extra cinnamon:)

Cover the fruit with the crumble mixture. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the apples are hot and crust is golden brown. Serve warm with cream or a scoop of ice cream…and enjoy!
